Bruno França dos Reis, 23 y/o, is a brazilian mechatronics engineering senior student at Escola Politécnica, University of São Paulo (Poli/USP), Brazil, taking part in a T.I.M.E. double-degree program in partnership with École Centrale de Lille, France.

Bruno first started on computer programming 16 years ago. He has a background of procedural and object-oriented programming, having started to learn the C language at the age of 9 and C++ three years later. At the same time he began experimenting with 8086 assembly. Throughout the years, he worked with many other languages and environments, such as PERL, PHP (from 4 up to 5.3 RC1), JavaScript, ActionScript 1.0 and 2.0, Java (J2SE and J2ME), Ruby, Delphi, MatLab (up to R2008b).

He started C# with .net when it was just released, back in 2001. After working 2 years with it, he stopped and restarted in 2007. In early 2009 he has started studying functional programming, experimenting with F# and Scheme.

He is very interested in mathematics as well, specially in number theory, dynamic systems and chaos, numerical analysis, set theory, algebra and olympic problems. He loves the study of languages, be it formal or natural.

When not working, Bruno listens to classical music, jazz and MPB, he plays the guitar and the flute and he loves cooking. Oh, and he is always trying to learn a new foreign language, so he can discover all Europe.
